Acrylic CD Case
Fin dai suoi primissimi lavori Luca Monti ha inteso la fotografia, almeno la fotografia che generava, come una sorta di feticcio, assolutamente non limitato nelle forme consuete della sua rappresentazione classica : la stampa.
Malgrado sia assolutamente evidente come Luca - fin dalle origini - si ponga l'obiettivo di essere uno stampatore raffinato e complesso, alla ricerca di certe atmosfere tipiche di uno Smith o di un Leiss; da questa etichetta, pare volersene distaccare quasi subito, realizzando installazioni fotografiche tra le più' disparate, dove il 'corpus' tradizionale della fotografia : la stampa, appunto, viene cosi bistrattata fino a scomparire quasi del tutto.
Ten 10 - Portfolio digitale composto da un contenitore 'fétiche' per singolo DVD. Proporre un portfolio / libro in queste veste insolita era una idea alquanto innovativa nel 1995; il disco che contiene video, foto, testi e materiali diversi di alcune delle installazioni solo progettate e di quelle realizzate nei primissimi anni da Luca Monti.
Since his very first works Luca Monti has understood photography, at least the photography he generated, as a kind of fetish, absolutely not limited in the usual forms of his classical representation: the press.
Although it is absolutely clear that Luca - from the beginning - sets himself the goal of being a refined and complex printer, looking for certain atmospheres typical of a Smith or a Leiss; from this label, it seems to want to detach it almost immediately, creating photographic installations of the most disparate, where the traditional corpus of photography: the print, in fact, is so mistreated until it disappears almost completely.
Ten 10 - Digital portfolio composed of a 'fétiche' container for a single DVD. Proposing a portfolio / book in this unusual capacity was a very innovative idea in 1995; the disc containing videos, photos, texts and different materials from some of the only designed installations and those made in the very first years by Luca Monti.
Depuis ses toutes premières œuvres, Luca Monti a compris la photographie, au moins la photographie qu'il a générée, comme une sorte de fétiche, absolument pas limitée dans les formes habituelles de sa représentation classique: la presse.
Bien qu'il soit absolument clair que Luca - depuis le début - se donne pour objectif d'être un imprimeur raffiné et complexe, cherchant certaines atmosphères typiques d'un Smith ou d'un Leiss; de ce label, il semble vouloir se détacher presque immédiatement, créant des installations photographiques des plus disparates, où le corpus traditionnel de la photographie: l'imprimé, en fait, est tellement maltraité jusqu'à ce qu'il disparaisse presque complètement.

Proposer un portfolio / livre dans cette capacité inhabituelle était une idée très novatrice en 1995; le disque contenant des vidéos, des photos, des textes et des matériaux différents de certaines des installations conçues uniquement et ceux réalisés dans les toutes premières années par Luca Monti.
